The Orthus Security Index – updated and published every month - provides a vendor-independent indication of the overall level of threat facing organisations. Information is assimilated on a global basis but increased importance is placed on threats most prevalent in the UK and Europe.
The index, ranging from 0 – 100, is based on Orthus independent research and analysis into the levels associated with various types of threat. Three sub-indices contribute to the overall score, concerned individually with threats, vulnerabilities, and protection levels. The product of the first two gives an indication of risk, offset by the third – representing controls in place within typical organisations.
The index is designed to give companies an indication of the current threats in existence and the overall associated business impact. The index inherently represents the effectiveness of deployed security countermeasures.
The first Orthus Security Index will be published shortly. |
